The Beginning Of World War II
<view this essay>.... 1919, when the Treaty of Versailles placed responsibility for that terrible war squarely on Germany. Years later, in the Far East, Japanese ambition for territory led the nation to invade Manchuria and other parts of nearby China, causing hostilities to flare in the Pacific Rim. Great Britain, the United States, and many other nations of the world would all be drawn into the battle in the years to come, and each nation had it’s own reason for lending a hand in the struggle (Negri, 30).
Although Germany was the major player in World War II, the seeds of war had already been planted in the Far East years before conflict in Europe. On September 18, 1931, the pow .....

Jay's Treaty
<view this essay>.... damage done to American shipping, and
the debts due to British merchants. Although the people did not like these
terms, Washington supported them to prevent us from going to war. Washington
made his first move by sending a delegate to England, and furthermore by
standing up to congress to get this treaty ratified. He demonstrates again his
great moral coura ge for the welfare of his country.
Although Washington himself did not write the treaty he deserves all the
credit for initiating it in the first place. The times had become rough with
the British, and according to Hamilton the British were a vital part of our
economy. He said " …the tax on imports fu .....

European Crusades
<view this essay>.... to recapture the Holy Land from
the Muslims. The word crusade, which is derived from the Latin crux
("cross") , is a reference to the biblical injunction that Christians

tunics to indicate that they had assumed the cross and were soldiers
of Christ .
The causes of the Crusades were many and complex, but
prevailing religious beliefs were clearly of major importance. The
Crusaders continued an older tradition of the pilgrimage to the Holy
Land, which was often imposed as a penance . Now, however, they
assumed a two roles as pilgrims and warriors. Such an armed p .....

Who Should Be Blamed For The H
<view this essay>.... deaths?
It is impossible, in my opinion, to place the blame for all these deaths on one man’s shoulders. It is understandably argued that the soldiers and such were merely carrying out orders, yet they had the choice whether to follow through or not. The murderers claimed to be afraid to disobey the ever-powerful Fuhrer in fear of their own life. Yet, I still believe that no one can be ultimately forced to do something they do not want to. All humans have a choice to make decisions and follow their own path, which these men did not choose to do. For this, I believe the men should suffer.
For example, Amon Goeth was Commandant of Plaszow, a work camp .....

The Situation In Kosovo
<view this essay>.... that are taking place, and so forth. Perhaps you have been watching CNN or checking out reuters.com on the Internet, both of which are excellent sources for the latest news. You probably consider yourself a concerned citizen, but how concerned are you really???
I’m certainly not condemning concern for students of Columbine High and the residents of Littleton. The shootings at Columbine High are indeed a tragedy, and should not be ignored by any means.
But what about Kosovo? What about our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers that are being sent over there? Aren’t they just as important as the students at Columbine High? I wou .....

Brief History Of The Dominican
<view this essay>.... during a brief civil war in 1965.
Politically, Dominican history has been defined by an almost continuous competition for supremacy among caudillos of authoritarian ideological convictions. Political and regional competition overlapped to a great extent because mainly conservative leaders from the south and the east pitted themselves against generally more liberal figures from the northern part of the Valle del Cibao (the Cibao Valley, commonly called the Cibao). Traditions of personalism, militarism, and social and economic elitism locked the country into decades of debilitating wars, conspiracies, and despotism that drained its resources and undermined .....
