and that the universe bends toward justice. We are moving from the black night
of segregation to the bright daybreak of joy, from the midnight of Egyptian
captivity to the glittering light of Canaan freedom"
explained Dr. King.
In the Cradle of the Confederacy, life for the white and the colored

The Civil War And Its Ending Of Slavery
<view this essay>.... and Whig parties, political leaders tried to avoid the slavery
question. But with growing opposition in the North to the extension of slavery
into the new territories, evasion of the issue became increasingly difficult.
The Missouri Compromise of 1820 temporarily settled the issue by establishing

The Causes Of The Holocaust
<view this essay>.... War I was one of the
major reasons for the cause of the Holocaust. After Germany's defeat in
World War I, Germans found it hard to believe they had lost the war. The
Treaty of Versailles was a document that officially ended military actions
against Germany (Craig 424). Germans did not like this treaty because
their government would have to pay other countries for their economic
losses (Allen 57). Germany also lost all of its colonies overseas. It had
to give back provinces to France, Belgium, and Denmark. France got German
coal mines and Gda sk, now a city in Poland, became a "free city." Poland
gained most of Western Prussia and Germany's Rhineland .....

Dea Sea Scrolls Imperfection
<view this essay>.... they were found, and then were stored in nearby caves surrounding the settlement.
Some of the contents of the scrolls, as mentioned above, had never been seen before in the archeological or religious communities. Being so, much skepticism concerning the scrolls, their meaning, their true origin and their authors has arisen. Of course, not all of these topics can be tackled at once and surely not all of the questions can be answered, especially because there is no proof of their true origin or their true authors, but certainly one can attempt to enlighten others with the hardships that are faced, even now, by the scribes who wrote them. In viewing the living .....

The Declaration Of Individualism And The Encouragement Of Protest From Birmingham Jail
<view this essay>.... against traditional views, encouraged protesting
against tradition and established laws that are unjust. In his letter from
Birmingham Jail King states:
"It was illegal to aid and comfort a Jew in Hitler's Germany. Even so, I am
sure that, had I lived in Germany at that time, I would have aided and comforted
my Jewish brothers. If today I lived in a Communist country where certain
principles dear to the Christian faith are suppressed, I would openly advocate
disobeying that country's anti-religious laws."
This excerpt shows that King encourages protest because in some situations he
deems it necessary, be it in Hitler's Germany, a Communist country, or any .....

The Vietnam War
<view this essay>.... was not a war at all, at least not from the United States standpoint. It is known as the Vietnamese Conflict. The conflict was between two different political parties in Vietnam, one of them being North Vietnam and the other being South Vietnam.
