The Holocaust
<view this essay>.... water, water." As the GI's gave them food and water some inmates ate so
fast that or they were so hungry that they fell unconscious and eventually
died. To see so many humans starving and dying like that would just tear me
a part. We have so much to be thankful for, yet so many people take it for
granted.
The GI's would capture the Germans and some would let the prisoners
kill them. One man was about to kill the man who killed his wife and kid,
but he just couldn't do it. The Germans would run and try to hide in the
woods, but the prisoners would run after them and jump them. In the Bible
it says we need to forgive and forget just as God has for .....

Earthquake San Francisco- 1906
<view this essay>.... great economic boom and almost all was lost on that day. The old buildings
were never made to withstand earthquakes and easily crumbled and fell crushed
people. Some sailers on the coast tried to leave but the waves flew the boats
around like toys. The buildings were made out of unreined forced brick or wood
which couldn't withstand a earthquake of that magnitude.
After the earthquake, they noticed that the San Andreas Fault shifted a
250-mile long section witch tore roads and fences. Rivers, roads and power
lines were severed and not aligned with its surroundings. A road across the
fault ended up 21 feet north of the road to the east same with the rive .....

British War
<view this essay>.... sending men to the flank. Washington’s army curled up, they had no place to go, and this was the end for the United States. Somehow though the British didn’t press the attack and Washington managed to slip off the island at night without the Red Coats seeing him.
I chose the battle of Long Island because it was where America was saved from the brink of disaster. If Washington had failed to get the Army off at night, or the British had pressed the attack, poof, no America. It may have not been the bloodiest, it may not have been the most exciting, but it certainly was the most important date in American History

Below them were the Creoles, or Spaniards born in the New World. Then came
mestizoes, men and women of mixed Spanish and Indian marriages; mulattoes,
people of black and Spanish ancestry; and zambos, those born from black

New World. The viceroys were the king's assistants. They helped manage the
government in the colonies, and carried out orders from the king. This
method did not work too well s .....

Intro To Islam
<view this essay>.... a Muslim entails willful submission and active obedience to God, and living in accordance with His message. Some people mistakenly believe that Islam is just a religion for Arabs, but nothing could be further from the truth. Not only are there converts to Islam in every corner of the world, especially in England and America, but by taking a look at the Muslim World from Bosnia to Nigeria, and from Indonesia to Morocco, one can clearly see that Muslims come from many various races, ethnic groups and nationalities. It is also interesting to note that in actuality, more than 80% of all Muslims are not Arabs - there are more Muslims in Indonesia than in the whole .....

The Greeks' Contribution To Western Civilization
<view this essay>.... was based on
Athenian ancestry. Unlike Athens in America to be a citizen you can be
born in the U.S. or you can be sworn in. The Athenians believed that men
were superior so they did not allow women to have any political rights even
voting. Although, the U.S. used to believed that they now govern with
women as equals. Another difference is that the Athenians permitted
slavery. Slavery in Athens was based on war or debts owed. Even though
slavery is not permitted now it used to be. It was then based on race,
which was totally unfair to the African Americans. This is just one
country effected by Greek democracy.
Many great philosophers that inf .....

The Socratic Logos
<view this essay>.... of the subject they are discussing before they reach a satisfactory logos for their subject (if they ever do reach a logos). In the Euthyphro Socrates never reached a logos for virtue. Euthyphro's definition as "What all the gods love"(Euthyphro, 9e) was incorrect because Euthyphro was presupposing that the reason the gods love it is because it is already pious.
The main subject of the Meno is the search for a definition of virtue. However, Meno and Socrates are unable to find one because Meno first attempts to give some characteristics of virtue, but is unable to do so because he cannot list all the aspects that are a part of virtue. Also, in th .....
