Obesity
<view this essay>.... a person's body fat,
however, is not easy. The most accurate method is to weigh a person
underwater - a procedure limited to laboratories with sophisticated
equipment. There are two simpler methods for estimating body fat, but they
can yield inaccurate results if done by an inexperienced person or if done
on someone with severe obesity. One is to measure skinfold thickness in
several parts of the body. The second involves sending a harmless amount of
electric current through a person's body (bioelectric impedance analysis).
Both methods are commonly used in health clubs and in commercial weight-
loss programs, but results should be viewed skeptically.

The reason for the increase in emergency room visits are because of an estimated forty-one billion Americans who does not have health insurance coverage and the senior citizen who is growing to use the emergency room. Smoking On Campus
<view this essay>.... bulk that cannot be seen makes up the so-called vapor or gas phase of cigarette “smoke.” It contains, besides nitrogen and oxygen, a bewildering assortment of toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, acrolein, hydrogen cyanide, and nitrogen oxides, to name just a few(Ginzel 1-2). After analyzing some of the statistics one may ask, “Why should students be aloud to enjoy a cigarette at the expense of others?” I interviewed several nonsmoking students and asked their opinion on the subject; Maria Malaka, a first year student at SPJC stated, “I hate when people smoke near me, it makes me sick!”. Just about every nonsmoker I asked had close to t .....

How Organism Learn: Classical And Operant Conditioning
<view this essay>.... This led
Pavlov to study the phenomenon further.
The experiments that Pavlov was originally observing were based on the set
of unconditioned stimulus and its unconditioned response. What is meant by
conditioned is that the response is automatic and based on instinct. To
compliment this name the stimulus is known as the unconditioned stimulus (Myers
260). With Pavlov's new observations a new set of stimulus and response was
found. This new set is known as the conditioned stimulus and the conditioned
response. What is meant by conditioned response here is that the response was
learned. The stimulus begins as neutral and causes no conditioned respon .....

Multiple Births

also increased with the higher number of offspring that are involved. In many
multiple births, not all of the children survived to childhood or were born dead.
Through the advances in technology, the survival rate of infants born in a
multiple pregnancy has increased. The first quintuplets, five babies born in a
single pregnancy, to survive in medical history were the Dionne quintuplets.
The use of drugs that treat female sterility, or fertility drugs, may
