As my father and I drove away from the busy airport in our rented, teal Ford Explorer, I looked back at the maze of roads and the colony of people, knowing that it would be days before I saw any type of civilization again. We rode in near silence the whole way to our outfitter’s ranch. Only the hum of the engine and an occasional horn disturbed us. We were a man and a boy completely engrossed in the magnificent landscape that surrounded us.
It took about three hours to reach our final destination. As we pulled into the drive, I looked up and saw a Stonehenge like structure built from the trunks of th .....

The Town Of El Dorado Springs

possibly a promotional pamphlet for the town, I thought perhaps the spring
was why it was classified as a geographical myth. While I read through

with characteristic reticence and secretiveness, they did not reveal this
fact to t .....

Under British rule, industrial growth in India was inhibited. Since independence, however, the country has achieved near industrial self-sufficiency. off an environmental catastrophe in the near future. Mountains surround the
valley Mexico City is in, and there is no natural drainage through them.
Canals carry rain water out of the valley, but especially heavy rains may
cause floods. Since the 1930's parts of the city have been sinking as much
as 1 foot a year and new buildings are constructed with special foundation
to prevent them from sinking. Mexico City's high altitude gives it a mild
climate and the nights are cool throughout the year, although it's in the
tropics.
Mexico City has many beautiful palaces that were built during the
