<view this essay>.... doesn't want to do that because he has already "pardoned the deceiver" who took his position many years ago. Prospero then says something a little strange, but it makes sense in the context of the story, he ask us to "release [him] from [his] bands with the help of your good hands." In other words, clap so that the sails of the boats his friends are riding in will be safely returned and Prospero can be "relieved by prayer" of the audience.
All of what Prospero has said is very nice cute, but the most interesting part of this monologue is what Shakespeare himself is saying. "Now that my charms are all o'erthrown, and what strength I have's mine own" means, now .....

Literary Analysis Of To Kill A Mockingbird
<view this essay>.... white people in Maycomb had a deep hatered for blacks, and so they also
treated all of them as prejudiced people. But, the black population, by far
was disriminated against the most. For instince the many times Scout was
told her father defened niggers, and was a nigger lover. One of these times
would be when Francais states, “I guess it ain't your fault if Uncle
Atticus is nigger lover”(83). And although Scout didn't truly know the
meanings of these statements seemingly rooted into the core of many Maycomb

of metaphor. His direct, unembellished approach remains constant throughout
the story.
To find the message in Metamorphosis, however, one must assume that
the story is meant for much more than entertainment. Before his
transformation at the beginning of the book, Gregor Samsa was working very
hard at a menial job to support his entire family. While his boss was very
strict, Gregor managed to do well enough to keep his family in an apartment
that was larger than their needs required. He was even planning to send his
sister to the music academy to further her violin skills. But to call
Greg .....

Frankenstein 3
<view this essay>.... her writing, many ideals in Mary Shelley's life can be connected with themes in her classic novel Frankenstein. Abandonment, Romanticism, and parenting are all themes that were a part of Mary Shelley's life and highly influential in her writing of Frankenstein.
A theme of abandonment by women is exhibited not only in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, but in her own life as well. Just after Mary Shelley's birth, her mother, Mary Wollstonecraft, died of complications from the childbirth. Mary was left, disastrously, without a female role model (Bloom 15). Her great loss can be seen played out in Frankenstein through the virtual absence of strong women. In the nove .....

To Kill A Mocking Bird: Tom Robinson's Trial
<view this essay>.... by which people have to live.
We learn the most about Maycomb Society through the trial. Town trials were big social events in the 1930s. The trial is described as a ‘Gala occasion’ and many people acted as if they were attending a ‘Carnival’, rather than to see a man on trial for his life. The town’s reaction to what is happening tells us a lot about people’s ideology and the general time frame. We learn more about the mutual hatred between African Americans and ‘whites’ in a legal sense. Groups like the ‘Idler’s club’ and the Mennonites enjoyed seeing a Black man’s freedom taken away from him.
Tom Robinson was found guilty of raping Mayella Ewell, in t .....

Salinger is able to express Holden's opinions about a lot of people in the story using this style of writing. Salinger also shows that Holden does not like people who act fake and try to show off. For example, when Holden and Sally went to the show he said, "At the end of the first act we went out with all the other jerks for a cigarette. What a deal that was. You never saw so many phonies in all your life, everybody smoking their ears off and talking about the play so that everybody could hear how sharp they were." (126) This shows how Holden .....

At first, Hale believes that the witch trials are necessary, and stands
by them unconditionally. When he first comes to town, he concludes that Satan
is at work. "And I mean to crush him utterly if he has shown face!" (p.39) Hale
