The Works And Life Of Charles Dickens
<view this essay>.... the hardships of growing up in a poor family or having the life of a
pauper in a big city. In these tales, though at times fictional, Dickens
seems to portray his life as a child through his books. The time period
about which Dickens' books were written is the mid nineteenth century.
They were written as if through the eyes of a child no more than twelve
years old. The response that the reader may have to this situation is that
of a warm and understanding feeling. The joy and bliss of the main
character is rarely showed; the main attitude is the overwhelming
complexity of situations that a boy of that age must face. The reader's
reaction to this may .....

Peter The Great
<view this essay>.... and to do this he needed to strengthen his army and create a navy. The class text book on the other hand implies that Peter’s main goal was to create a strong and powerful army, and that the ‘westernization’ of Russia was a byproduct of that. My third source, Infopedia (computer encyclopedia) stated that the modernization of Russia included the creation of an army capable of contending with the western world. Another point that the video stressed which the text book and the encyclopedia did not was the opposition that Peter faced from Russian traditionalist church followers. Also, Peter’s stepsister was only mentioned in the video viewed in class.

<view this essay>.... to Rome in 1510--11 he was appalled by the corruption
he found there. Money was greatly needed at the time for the rebuilding of
St. Peter's, and papal emissaries sought everywhere to raise funds by the
sale of indulgences. The system was grossly abused, and Luther's
indignation at the shameless traffic, carried on in particular by the
Dominican Johann Tetzel, became irrepressible. As professor of biblical
exegesis at Wittenberg (1512--46), he began to preach the doctrine of
salvation by faith rather than works; and on 31 October 1517 drew up a
list of 95 theses on indulgences denying the pope any right to forgive
sins, and nailed them on the church doo .....

Thomas Jefferson
<view this essay>.... to find information. I think that it is much smarter to try to find
information electronically than it is to go to a library, do a search, hope they
have it in stock, walk around trying to find the book, go check it out, drive
home, stop at McDonald's, and finally site down and read it. By the time you
get home and have time to read it, you're too tired to read the book, let alone
do a report with it.

April 13, 1743. His dad, Peter Jefferson and his mom Jane Randolph were members
